I took this picture while hiking in the Colorado Rocky Mountains. I'm posting this now because I was cleaning up my desktop and figured I could talk about it a bit. This hike I took was an eye-opening experience for me. I felt that being in nature really removes you from the stress of everyday life. If you are a student, like I am, you know how hard it is to manage the workload of those challenging classes. Sometimes it may feel like the world is all about work. I felt that way too. However, all I need to do is look at this image to remind myself what it was like to be there. At that very moment, I was in complete peace. It was a beautiful summer day and I was nearing the end of my journey to the top of those mountains. I'll never forget the sound of the rushing water, the smell of the fresh pine, and the warmth of the hot sun. That will always be a moment I can come back to. All I need to do is look at this picture to remind myself.

This can be applied to anyone's life. Whenever you feel like there is too much monotony in your life, remember that the whole world isn't about work. Sometimes you need to find some inner peace by temporarily stepping out of your situation. It doesn't have to be a two week vacation to some bucolic hostel in another country. It could be as simple as a walk in a local park or, for me, a few minutes reminiscing over a past trip.

Why I started this...

I would first like to thank you, the reader, for visiting my page. I started this project as an outlet to help other people find motivation in this stressful and unyielding world. I have some decent experience as a counselor and I would like to apply what I learned from my training to this blog. I want to help others when they feel overwhelmed, discouraged, or misguided. I will relate to some of my own stories to help inspire people to be all that they can be.
